Next eTLC Meeting is March 16
A hearty thanks to everyone who came to the February meeting of our Niiza/West Tokyo Chapter. It was an interesting discussion about new technology. By the way, most of our members had decided that Twine should have been the winner of the TechCrunch Best Technology Innovation / Achievement Award. The people at TechCrunch, however, decided that earthmine was the most innovative. Oh well, both look to be very interesting and useful. Please click on the links to learn about these two exciting new companies.
For March, since the new school year will be beginning soon, we decided that it would be timely to talk about the Japanese education system. Some of our members wanted to discuss the entrance examination system, but perhaps, a good focus could be on the role of English and/or other foreign languages. We could discuss whether a foreign language (like English) should be introduced in elementary school, or whether foreign languages should be required or elective parts of the curriculum. Please if you have any suggestions concerning what specifically we could discuss about education.
As always our meeting will be an excellent way to improve your English and a great way to share your time with our pleasant group of members. Simply, it will be a very nice and positive way to spend a Sunday in March. We hope to see you on March 16.
If you want to read something to prepare for the meeting, here is an article Ishizuka Eng Elem School.pdf. This is only for preparation. We will not use it at the meeting.
