About July: Summer Thrills and Chills!
A hearty thanks to the members who attended the June meeting. As always it was a very interesting meeting. The discussion was about hobbies and podcasts. As always, the two hours flew by.
It’s been decided that for our July meeting, it would be best to leave the topic fairly broad to allow more freedom in the meeting. Since it’s summer and so many different things have occurred already (World Cup, G8 Summit, escalation of fighting in the Middle East, summer vacation plans), we will start the meeting with a short speaking exercise about summer vacations, both past and present. From there, the meeting can go in whatever direction the discussion leads. Finally, if enough members are willing, we are planning to go to a local “izakaya” for some summer refreshment.
Overall, our meetings are organized as follows:
During the first part of the meeting, we will share general ideas about the topic.
Next, we will have a short interactive exercise dealing with the theme.
In the final part of our meeting, we will spend some time working on a learning strategy.
