Product Description

A lawyer, a murderer and a policeman - caught in a tangled web of love, loss, terror and intrigue.

When lawyer Julia Grant interviews Sam Smith who has been charged with a vicious murder, she feels a strange connection to him, as if she has met him before, as if he holds the key to something she has forgotten among the unbearable memories from her past she has determinedly blotted out.

He feels a connection too. "Julia, you are the only one who can help me," he pleads.

Is it the same connection? Does he know something she cannot recall?

When he is duly convicted despite her best efforts, he suddenly turns on her in the courtroom and threatens that one day he will make sure to wreak his revenge on her.

But why? What has she ever done to him?

And then, on his way to prison, he escapes . . .

Review

A compelling read, 1 Sep 2011
By G. Hewett

I found Pinpoint unputdownable. Taylor's fluid, skilful writing swept me along as her usually clear-thinking, sharp-witted lawyer, Julia, stumbles into a minefield of memories, loses her way and starts taking terrible risks. The characters, settings and situations are finely drawn and carefully researched, so they feel very real. And it isn't just the usual series of twists and turns with mounting pressure - the story has real human depth.

A thriller that delivers! August 1, 2011
By Mark S. Mayfield

This book is gripping from the start--easily one of the best thrillers I've read in a long time. Books in this genre must do several things to keep me turning the pages: They must tell a compelling, dramatic story and do it at a fast pace. They must also build that story around strong, believable characters. Pinpoint achieves all of this, and does it in a narrative that is head and shoulders above most legal thrillers.

As an American only vaguely familiar with the English court system, I learned a great deal through this story and found myself caught up with these two main characters: Julia, a defense attorney, and her client Sam, one of the most ruthless villains I've seen in a book lately. The fact that they may be brother and sister adds a remarkable twist to what is already a triumph of storytelling.

If you're looking for a great new book to read, you won't find a better one than this. My guess is that we'll see a movie version sometime soon, but nothing beats the real thing.
