Product Description

Despotic market owner Sheena McKinley rules her market and car boot sale with an iron fist. When, as a cost-cutting exercise, she allows the inmates of the local open prison to pick up litter, there are rumblings of discontent amongst the regular traders, particularly the car-booters. One by one, the prisoners start to go missing; Reg, the market manager, thinks he's been abducted by aliens; Matt, the butcher, starts selling chicken feed and the Burger Man's indiscretions come back to haunt him. In the background, something dark and sinister is going on – something that will, one day soon, come home to roost!

Review

By Anne Athron
This review is from: Chicken Feed (Kindle Edition)

Quirky characters and strange happenings combine to provide the reader with a delicious romp set in a British flea market. In this, their debut novel, husband and wife writing team, Sue and Nigel Liversidge, working under the pseudonym of Ellen Ghyll, have produced a series of memorable characters, whose lives intertwine to produce some hilarious scenes that cry out for a Hollywood treatment. Where else can you find humor, intrigue, and brown hens all wrapped up in a neat little package? You really won’t want to miss this one! - Annie Acorn

By Ron Makin on Oct. 02, 2011:

The characters oh the characters! None of them needed much introduction they are all instantly recognisable for anyone who has lived in a market town. ( I moved from such a town, now residing in USA). The humour is all there spun into the stories of sinister goings on that are fully believable. One hopes there will be more and in a similar vein.
