The Sable City is the first volume of a fantasy/adventure series called The Norothian Cycle. As such, it is the introduction not only to a cast of characters but to an entire world, though I have endeavored not to let laying-the-groundwork detract from Tilda’s story. My wife let me borrow her copy of this, letting me know it was quite lengthy. Within the first couple of chapters I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. I ended up ripping right through it in just a couple of days. If you even slightly enjoy fantasy books, then this is definitely for you. I enjoyed it so much I’ve bought my own copy and am going to start the sequel tonight!
